DSC01828 BCD Nov19 Auction Lot25 Tuck Music Room adj

Lot 25 – Tuck ZagZaw, The Music Rom, 800pc complete, earlet cut whimsies, 25x18in, boxed est£160 – START £120 MADE £140

This jigsaw is cut in the later Tuck ZagZaw style, with earlet or heart-shaped knobs and finely cut figurals (as was the other ZagZaw jigsaw in the auction). The photo shows a figurals-out view of the jigsaw.

Another copy of this jigsaw was sold very recently on UK Ebay, and made almost the same price as this one.

Dave Cooper, cutter, enthusiast and former owner of the British Jigsaw Library, passed away this summer and his most prestigious jigsaws were auctioned at the November 2019 BCD Meeting. 31 puzzles formed 28 lots - all of which were sold. Tom Tyler was the auctioneer and overseas and absent members were able to make postal or 'book' bids. Most of the lots were sold to UK members, but some will be leaving Britain. A high proportion of the lots were vintage Holtzapffel jigsaws - guaranteeing a high turnout for the meeting.
