DSC01873 Two-Sided Antique Barfoot Jigsaw England's Hope Reverse adj

The antique jigsaw is two sided, made by Barfoots around 1865. It has lost three knobs and part of another piece but none of its charm. The main image shows girls and boys playing at grown-up occupations and its title is 'England's Hope'. The reverse carries the trademark Barfoot Roses and shows an improbable scene in an aviary including birds great and small from ostriches and flamingos to peacocks, pelicans, herons and a toucan.
