DSC00880 York Superimposed Jigsaw Box - Vintage 3D-Enhanced Jigsaw

Front of box, York 'New Superimposed Jig-Saw Puzzle'.

Here is David's entry for the series from Jigasaurus, which has three examples, including this 180pc example 'Disputed Possession', by artist Park, measuring 8x10.5in:

"Examples from the "York" series of "New Superimposed Jig-Saw Puzzles" seems likely to have been relatively short-lived. They are thought to have originated during the 1920's-1930's, offering a very stylish adaptation from the norm of two dimensional puzzles, by raising subject areas on an accurately-cut backing to give relief to the puzzle.

No manufacturer name appears on the box, but they are promoted as "ALL BRITISH"."

The other examples are 180pc Feeding Time (Birds), and 150pc Treasures of the Shore.

Looking through my files I have only three examples from ebay of this series - the possibly incomplete 2015 150pc Disputed Possession, a 180pc Good Morning, and an example I won of 400pc The Last Furrow (with two pieces of the yellow raising area absent).
