Grandpa TJ Jigsaw Progress adj DSC06199
The theme for the Show & Tell session of the November 15 Meeting of the BCD (Jigsaw society) was Christmas. This jigsaw was brought along after the cutter and BCD member Grandpa TJ (who now lives in the USA) paid a surprise visit to the last meeting. I was very sorry to miss Terry, but appreciated being given the opportunity to assemble another of his puzzles. I have four of Terry's puzzles but haven't yet made up the two 3D enhanced ones.
The puzzle had been made for Bronwen but had no title to give any clue to the image. Clearly it was a 3D enhanced puzzle - with pieces in varying thicknesses of plywood. Alas I didn't get very far because we had to leave c 4pm and much of the remaining time was taken by the Show & Tell, the excellent lecture, and the task of photographing the exhibits to retain memories and share with absent BCD and flickr friends. The other people sharing the task of assembly also had to leave early and I hope that a completed image might eventually be placed in the magazine or on Jigasaurus.
Just before we left the owner showed me an image of it. This was very funny, because it is one of the two Grandpa TJs that I own and haven't yet assembled! My jigsaw has a larger piece count, but you can see the image, 'The Japanese Parisien' by Alfred Stevens completed in 1872, on his site:

It isn't on the Christmas theme!
