Newport Puzzle Library Collage 24

The theme for the June 2015 BCD Meeting (British jigsaw association) was Library Puzzles and Interesting Cardboard Jigsaws. This collage shows the two jigsaws from the Newport Puzzle Library known to me - my own jigsaw 'A Friendly Visit' and 'Fishing on the River Dart'. Both jigsaws are stored in flat square plain cardboard boxes with a small label.

'A Friendly Visit' by artist Stuart Ross - a small 226pc jigsaw, measuring 16.7x10.2in The cut is varied and interesting as the detail shows. On the rear of the box in pencil are some seven dates from 1934 - 1936 with times taken against them - from 2hrs to 1hr 20min. (I'm not saying how long it took me!) On the front is a name and address in ink "D Swaffield, The Poplars, Duffield Rd, Derby".

'Fishing on the River Dart' (an imperfect stitch of several photos) - 220pc and only 12x10in, cut in a similar style and presumably by the same hand.
