BCD Meeting Library Puzzles ES Cutter 8
Post Script: Identified from my files, May 23:
Extract from Nicki's document: Douglas Library No 113 551 piece “The Old Tearooms”, 16” x 19” , Cutter S 1930s
Sale description: Douglas Library Enid Stocken S 573pc Old English Tea Rooms Winchester 4 1repl 16x19in 1930s. Photo of box with label torn, possible box re-use at the Library?
The theme for the June 2015 BCD Meeting (British jigsaw association) was Library Puzzles and Interesting Cardboard Jigsaws.
Here a BCD member is busy on a library puzzle with a fascinating cut, which includes repeated ES whimsies and other shapes. I think speakers said this was a feature of one of the cutters of the Douglas Library - the ES is unlikely to have been Enid Stocken, however, because none of the whimsies resemble her trademark ones. Miss E Smith would fit the initials but her style is also very different (see UMCA on Jigasaurus).
Unfortunately I failed to record the title, library, piece count details - if these are mentioned in the BCD Magazine I'll add them later.
