Do you remember?
This is a view of the farm buildings where we camped over the weekend as we sat by our fire making plans for the next day's hike in the mountains.
The last time I'd camped here was with my nephew two years ago some time after my mother had passed away.
I wasn't exactly melancholy, but the scene made me feel quite introverted, like I was quietly viewing past scenes from my life from a different vantage point.
There was something about the lights from the windows that reminded me of separations, lost loves, endings and closure.
A calm observance of some of life experiences that had knocked but ultimately shaped me .... the sense of being outside looking in.
