Iris Foetidissima Berries

Iris foetidissima, the stinking iris, gladdon, Gladwin iris, roast-beef plant, or stinking gladwin, is a species of flowering plant in the family Iridaceae, found in open woodland, hedgebanks and on sea-cliffs. Wikipedia.

 

 

This grows readily in our garden and seeds around freely. Most of the plants we have are self-sets left to do their own thing. Don't dead-head the flowers when finished and you will be rewarded with these bright seed pods in the autumn and winter. This plant was catching the orange sunrise today.
