Convict Lake, Sunrise and Fall Color
I met my good friend Thomas in Mammoth last weekend. After a crazy hike the day before I wanted to get up for sunrise. At 6am I could tell there were some sweet clouds to the south west, but I wasn't sure if they were lining up behind Convict Lake. So, I drove out to the Alkali Ponds to watch the sunrise. Just before dawn I could tell that there were some clouds behind Convict, so I jumped in the car and drove to the lake. I passed a group of 15 photographers and found this sweet spot down by the lake. The sunrise didn't light up quite like I had hoped, but it did produce some nice color!
