Blythe a Day July 22–Fan Fiction
My Blythe dolls, Brigette and Charlotte are posing for an Escaflowne fan fiction manga. The characters are Van Fanel and Hitomi Kanzaki from my favorite anime, Vision of Escaflowne. The photo on the left shows Van and Hitomi as they appeared in the 26 episode series. The photo on the right shows them in the Escaflowne movie. The faces are Brigette and Charlotte with wigs. Van’s hair has been styled to the anime hero style. I used the ArtCard app with the “toon” edit to make them look more manga-like.
The Vision of Escaflowne is a late 1990’s Japanese anime series. Hitomi is a high school girl on the track team at her school who is magically transported to Van’s world of Gaea, where Van’s kingdom has been destroyed, the couple and their friends battle enemies and create alliances, with the help of Van’s Guymelef (giant robot) Escaflowne, and with Hitomi’s ability to foresee the future.
The series and the movie both end with Hitomi leaving Gaea to come back to Earth. But many fan fiction stories have been written with alternate endings of Van and Hitomi staying together.
