Silent Alarm

Pole that at one time had a speaker for an alarm let everyone know they needed ot an their stations at this atlas E nuclear missile site. All of the atlas "E" missiles didn't have much in the ways of guidance and from what I was told, at the time of this site being active it was unclear if a missile launched from the states would actually be able to make it all the way to russia. The 'E" missile sites all had the missile sitting directly north & south so that when the missile was launched it would be travelling in the direction of the USSR (going over the top of the globe)...all it had to do was have enough fuel to get it up & over and the warhead would take care of the rest. Location not disclosed at owners request.

183 second exposure, Protomachine flashlight set to red & lime. At the time of my visit there were some pretty heavy clouds moving in.
