The moment before totality, without my solar filter. The filter dims the sunlight from the solar disc by a factor of a million, but when the Moon comes in to do the job, you can remove the filter and see the pink prominences from the chromosphere. Image is as shot, no editing, straight out of the camera (a modified DSLR that captures some infrared light in addition to visible). I was surprised the pink was visible through the small cloud that passed in front during the first 30 seconds of totality!
