The National Tropical Botanical Garden Research Center is the first LEED Certified building on the island of Kauai. They achieved gold status. Some of the LEED credits were obtained through the use of solar panels, rain catchment system & cistern, gravelpave walkways, no CFC based refrigerants, native Hawaiian plants, reclaimed tropical hardwood, electric car with charging station and much more.
