ronghualu says: Leica M9. Tonal transitions are not as subtle as those by other cameras. Strange colours, too. magenta lips?

ronghualu says: Nikon D800. The Sony 36mp imager proves again to be a new standard for DSLR. Excellent, subtle tonal transitions with excellent details in fingers. Is this the best?

ronghualu says: Leica M9. To my eyes, the M9 creates very unnatural colours (magenta lips?) and skin tones/textures are not silky smooth. Very sweet photo, though!

ronghualu says: Fuji XPro with Noctilux. The XPro may be the best for skin tones and portraits. This photo caught my attention for the very natural skin tones and texture, AND for its capture of the details in the black hair and clothing. Details in black areas are difficult for digital, and normally require studio lighting: but, the XPro gives an excellent result in candid and ambient conditions. Judging by this photo, Fuji's claims about greatly improved dynamic range and details appear to be true. Also, the combo of camera/lens intrigues me. The Noctilux is a difficult lens to control at f1, and focus is critical. This is why the lips are in focus while some of the hair and clothing is out of focus, due to DOF. Yet, the lens and camera have recorded good details in the DOF areas. Technically, an impressive result.
