Coping With Loss

I visited the Glen Helen Raptor Center in Yellow Springs OH for the first time yesterday. All of the birds at this rehabilitation facility have been declared permanently injured and unable to be released back to the wild. This beautiful owl has been blinded in one eye. He's healthy and safe, but I can feel the sadness of the loss of his most important sense.
