The Toyota
Tso Kar. Had loaded this image earlier but processed it a bit differently this time to bring out the starkness in the desert landscape. This car performed admirably in the harsh landscape where the road you see in the pic is the norm rather than the exception. The altitude here 4,268 meters or about 14,000 feet and the ridges in the background are about 20,000 ft high. We had to cross a pass to the left to arrive at Tso Kar and by this time, the last tree we had seen was more than 4 hours ago. This is a barren desert landscape with no shelter from the sun. The only place we could hide was the shadow of the car. The dry salty wind from Tso Kar (Tso, meaning lake), dried our faces, the sun and high altitude UV, burning our skin to a golden bronze color. Incredible!!
