Rising Sun
Auli, Himalayas.
Just to get a sense of scale, I was standing at 10,500 Feet altitude and the mountains in front are 20,000 ft + high peaks. The air was rarefied and oxygen was low. Walking to this place was a chore as every step was a gasp.
I took this photo when I knew little about photography, leave alone shutter speed and aperture. But this is still my favourite capture of all the 1000s of photos I've taken. This is all about making the effort to be in the right place at the right time, at the crack of dawn, nature's superb "blue hour", under the right circumstances. Its about luck and nature revealing herself and her beauty to me for the moment so that I could click! I was hooked from thereon!
I love the Himalayas.
