The Backwaters

Poovar, Kerala.

 

Monsoon storm clouds were coming in as soon as I was crossing this bridge in my autorickshaw. My driver stopped just in time for me to capture this! The little dark grey strip in the middle of the frame is the Arabian Sea. The Backwaters in Kerala are natural fresh water lagoons and canals, hundreds of Kms long that form coastal Kerala. The place abounds in coconut trees.
