Nanda Devi Sanctuary-Outer wall (Explore!)

This image was captured in early summer and the different fall-like hues of the trees has more to do with the light reflecting from the setting sun. I was standing at about 10,000 ft, high above the Auli meadows when I took this shot.

Mt. Nanda Devi, the twin-peaked Mother Goddess mountain to the local Kumaonis living in the Himalayan region, is surrounded by two ring of peaks, each "ring" about 20,000ft high. This is a view of the Outer wall or ring constituting of peaks like Mt. Bethartoli, Trishul, Nanda Kot, Nanda Ghunti, Mriguthani etc.
