Leh to Srinagar

The stark martian mountainscape of Ladakh is left behind with a view of the 18,000 ft mountains surrounding Leh airport (IXL) and a group of prefabricated Army "Mess" huts in the higher valley. The flight, a Go Air Airbus A320 turned right sharply to avoid the peaks at the head of the valley and climbed north-west, following the Leh-Srinagar national highway towards Kashmir.
