IPad Mini or Galaxy Note 8?

(I will refer to the IPad Mini = Ipad * and Galaxy Note 8 = Galaxy)

Of course it makes sense to use an IPad if you have an IPhone and a Galaxy Note 8 if you have a Droid. But perhaps you are wondering what, if any, differences there are between the two? Let me first say they are both very good devices and both perform well. I use both, and while I’m no expert, this is my unprofessional conclusion.

I find the Ipad mini to be the easier to use, but the Galaxy is more customizable.

The Galaxy costs about $50 more.

The battery life of the IPad is longer by about an hour.

Both have a huge variety of apps available, though more are specifically geared toward the IPad brand.

The app store geared for Droids, Playstore, has way more photography apps.

There are more free apps available for the Galaxy.

The Galaxy has S. Pen technology, IR blaster, and a micro SD card slot. The IPad does not.

The IPad is available in Wi-Fi or 4G LTE capable; the Galaxy come with only Wi-Fi.

Books look better and are easier to read on the Galaxy.

If you pay for an app, you only have to pay once and can use it on your Droid phone and your tablet for no extra charge. With an IPad, you have to buy the app for every device you want to use it on.

The Galaxy has an active Wacom digitizer. The IPad does not.

The colors are richer and brighter on the Galaxy and the images not as pixelated.

Sooo…. The bottom line is that the choice is really just a matter of preference. Generally, though, if you are creative and enjoy customizing, then the Galaxy is for you. If you like user friendly devices, the IPad is for you. If you can’t decide, try both – I did.
