MP46-E

They say necessity is the mother of intention. This was certainly the case in 1946. As WWII drew to a close, the Nazi's grew desperate, and began to seek alternative and unexplored methods of combat. In January of 1945, a respected German scientist by the name of Dr. Carl Clauberg, under the command of Heinrich Himmler, the director of the SS, began experimenting to create "Super Soldiers." It began with merely adrenaline and strength increasing drugs, but soon evolved into something much darker. In late February of 1945, all contact was lost with the Nazi laboratory where Dr. Clauberg was conducting his experiments. Shortly after, reports came in of men in SS uniforms that stood 6 feet tall but were completely berserk, feeding on the flesh of enemies and fellow soldiers alike. Initially the Nazi government tried to suppress and cover up the outbreak, but the more troops that were sent in, the more the number of mutated super soldiers grew. In April of '45, the German government sent not only a surrender to the Allies, but also a plea for help. War torn Germany was utter chaos, overwhelmed with these horribly ill conceived experiments, and lacking the man power to fight them. The allies first expected this to be a ruse, but when surrounding countries began to report similar sightings, they agreed to assist their former enemies. What these events sparked became known as The Great Outbreak.

What you see here is a standard issue German machine pistol. The need for more firepower prompted the overhaul of the MP40 into a more powerful weapon. It feeds from a 63 round helical magazine, and features a strengthened receiver and heavy barrel to counteract the increased amount of fire. It also is equipped with a bayonet and a heat shield.
