making music

this is a plea for HELP!!! This photo and the other "hands on the piano" shot were taken at a friend's house. i've tried several times to take shots there. and as you can see - they always come out this hideous color. it's bad enough when it's just a piano and some anonymous hands (lovely music, tho!) but when it's faces - it's awful. No matter what setting i use - tungsten, florescent, flash (i've used an external flash, which gives me no better pictures and just drives everybody nuts), shade, cloudy - it's always the same. i have a special saving for the lighting in my house, and have also tried that. I guess i COULD set up a lighting parameter for her house, but we're not there THAT often. Can it be that her lights just aren't amenable to photos? it's GOT to be the tungsten bulbs, that's all we have over here. But the photos really always come out this awful orangey color. i generally don't shoot RAW - hate editing. and these are supposed to be candids, spontaneous shots. I know i won't go back and spend timed editing these, other than MAYBE just a crop or 2.

So - if anybody has ANY suggestions, i would really appreciate your input!!

Thanks!
