hand-made crepe paper bouquets

so, the international flower industry has notoriously crappy labor practices, and nothing local was in bloom during our February wedding. the fact that we had no real bridal party, just flower girls, made it relatively easy to be virtuous. so i made these for me and the flower girls, and they were rad.

but let me break it on the real for you, because here's what martha stewart won't tell you: unless you have a sweatshop of MFAs, each flower takes a couple of hours. also - floral tape is only sometimes necessary, and usually your enemy, but the trusty glue gun is your friend, so use it liberally. no one sees the bulging hideous bottoms of your flowers.

this is where we got the crepe paper, which was super high-quality: www.cartefini.com/#!home

we also bought fabric flower wrist corsages for our mothers, from dinkybirdboutique, on etsy, and they were lovely. best of all, the bouquets and corsages last forever and make nice mementos!
