Le Paradis massacre memorial

Commemorating the 97 soldiers, mostly from the Royal Norfolk Regiment, who were machine-gunned to death by a Waffen-SS unit after surrendering at Le Paradis in northern France during the retreat to Dunkirk in May 1940.

 

The officer responsible was executed in 1949.

 

Situated outside the east end of Norwich Cathedral, and dedicated by the Princess Royal in 2021.
