"Simon of Sudbury"
Commemorating Simon of Sudbury (a.k.a. Simon Tybald, Theobald or Thebaud), Archbishop of Canterbury and Chancellor of England, who was murdered during the Peasants' Revolt of 1381. His skull is preserved as a relic in the church, and can apparently be viewed by appointment.
Part of the "Talbot Trail", a series of mini-bronze figures on red posts dotted around the town, illustrating different aspects of the area's history and heritage.
