WSMT Paisley 1977
From as early as 1955, the Bristol Lodekka began to be purchased by the nationalised Scottish operators. Many would go north including a large batch of 106 secondhand models between 1971-74 swopped with National Bus Company operators for unwanted but newer Bristol VRs. A good number of the Scottish operators painted their Lodekkas red or green so the parallel to English buses continued. A red Scottish fleet was Western Scottish. I never consciously clocked one in service with passengers but in The Forsythe Collection at the National Railway Museum a Western example had cover billing on the summer 1977 Paisley & Greenock area timetable showcasing Paisley Abbey as well.
