City Hall
City Hall.
City Hall is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority (GLA), which comprises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. It is located in Southwark, on the South Bank of the River Thames near Tower Bridge. It was designed by Norman Foster and opened in July 2002 at a cost of £43 million.
Next to the ‘City Hall’ is an area called ‘The Scoop’ which is used in the summer months for open-air performances.
Today there is a display of Tracey Anderson’s photographs of a project by Lorraine Maher celebrating mixed race Irish people and to question the concept of 'Irishness' and what an authentic Irish identity means for Irish communities today.
The picture was taken from the Sky Garden of the Walkie-Talkie building, aka 20 Fenchurch Street.
