Shining clubmoss, Huperzia lucidua, is a seedless vascular plant that produces spores in sporangia tucked in the axils of its upper leaves,and often above above them, axiallay gemmae. This specimen was photographed on a sandstone cliff in a woodland in Hocking County, Ohio on May 27, 2009
