IM18 The main interest 20176+20189+TS422 Skegness
Having been to Skegness to other week, I thought it was worth digging out photos of my only previous visit on 2 July 1988. The station much busier - more people in this shot than on the platform two weeks ago and the traction more interesting - a nine car DMU and 20176 with 20189.
I had just alighted from the 20s having caught them at Nottingham and returned on the adjacent DMU rather than waiting for proper traction. If you believe the records of the day, the 20s limped back home, in the end one loco working solo for part of the journey.
Just I shame in my naivety I didn't take any wider shots of the station etc.
20189 lives on today and worked the 2013 RHTT in South Yorkshire wearing a green livery and has also sported the Blue and White Balfour Beatty Rail and now BR blue liveries.
