DSC00695 66048 CF Booth
Following a tip off by local enthusiast and ex rail worker 'Tommy' prior to the passage of the lunchtime freightliner and 73969 plus 2x47 I nipped down to CF Booth to capture a previously un photographed 66048 'James the Engine' which has been stripped ready for scrapping. With modern exchangeable parts, I guessing there not much left to scrap after all salvaging for spare parts has been done. The bogies don't look like originals.
An update on this shot is it seems the loco lives on, or at least the bodyshell which has been moved to Axiom in Stoke. Perhaps the metal is so tinny it has no scrap value.
