College Valley Estate is situated in North Northumberland in the heart of the Cheviot Hills, an area of renowned beauty. The estate extends to nearly 4,800 hectares and lies entirely within the Northumberland National Park (NNP).

College Valley Estate is now managed by a Board of Directors whose duty is to manage it in a way that increases its value as an environmental, social and economic place of excellence. Furthermore, they have to encourage and make available to the general public an environment that focuses on education and recreational enjoyment. Farming and Forestry have been the main sources of income for the estate and will continue, in addition to future enterprises that are considered appropriate and that are in line with the objectives and aims of the College Valley.
College Valley Estate is a haven for wildlife and vegetation, and is home to the largest semi natural woodlands (Harrowbog) in the NNP as well as Cheviot, the highest hill in North England at 2,500ft.
Visitors are free to visit the estate on foot, bicycle or horse. Up to 12 cars per day are allowed and permits can be optained from Sale and Partners for a charge of £10 including VAT. Free passes for guests and groups can be applied for from Sale and Partners Office , Glendale Road, Wooler, Tel no 01668 281611. Demand for these is high.
