A broken headset Plantronics unit modified for Hifi along with some home made 32ohm orthodynamic portable headphones.

 

1. Added smoothing capacitance (Nichi Muse)

 

2. Decoupled USB power and various Chips

 

3. Remove all extraneous functions (pure audio output)

 

4. Create new output stage using Wima film and Cerafine electrolytics

 

5. Replace the stock clock crysstal with a better 12k (used to sample for 48 and 44.1k)

 

6. Add a radioshack slim profile TRS panel mount connector

 

7. Enjoy your new 24bit USB DAC with Headphone amp putting out 200mA (enough to drive almost any headphone out there)

 

Volume is controlled with the computer volume
