I found this cool little plant in my mom's garden. I don't think that it's a flower, but actually the leaves of the plant that create the fan pattern. The contrast between the bright actual circles on the plant and the shadowed areas created a very dynamic and eye-catching image in my opinion. The unique shape and the depth created by the layers and layers of individual plant stalks adds repition and forms a nice pattern. The physical circles are the white center of each set of leaves. The implied circles are forms by connecting the tips of each leaf in each bunch together. I also abosutely love the color in the picture! Flickr does not do the vividness of the green justice.
