Bakerina
standing where the kitchen table used to be
Yet another view of the kitchen I haven't seen in 14 years. :)
As we were hauling out the last of our stuff yesterday, our landlord showed the apartment to about a dozen different people. Every time he said "see, the kitchen is nice and big," I wanted to say "noooo! Don't be fooled! The kitchen is big from a square footage standpoint, but it has very little usable counter space and the stove is on the other side of the room from the sink! If you don't have an island (or wish to spend $5,000 on one), you're sunk! Run far, run fast!" But I didn't. We like the landlord, and I didn't want to make his job harder. Still, I had to bite my lip, and hard, every time. :)
He rented it before we were gone, of course. New tenant (brand new college graduate from Maryland) moves in as soon as landlord finishes painting and cleaning, and will be paying $200/month more than we did. Welcome to New York.
