14/52: Against all Odds
This is not going to mean much to anyone else but I have decided to use this shot for this week's entry to V52 because of how it was taken and the sheer flookiness of getting this shot!
We visited Cleethorpes today as the weather had warmed - slightly! I sat on the beach in my winter coat, whilst my (crazy!) family went paddling in the sea. I think a lot of people had had the same idea as us and seen the sun shining and decided to get outside even though it was still cold. Anyway, we decided to cross over the Humber bridge on our way back as we'd never done it before. This shot was taken in the following circumstances:
1) In a moving car
2) there is shutter lag on my little Kodak point and shoot, so the picture you take is not always the one you want (usually too late!)
3) there were uprights on the bridge I wanted to avoid
4) the sun was shining directly at me so I could see nothing on the LCD
Basically, I just pressed the shutter and hoped for the best! The only editing I have done is just to boost the saturation slightly - I haven't even straightened it. I was so impressed with the shot that I just had to include it as my entry for V52 for this week!
