Week 17: Contrasty Gerbera
Not been the best of weeks for us again unfortunately - Mum had to have her dog put down. That's 2 pets within 2 weeks for our family :-(
I decided to buy myself some flowers today to brighten the moods somewhat - the weather hasn't exactly been helping either! Gerberas are my favourite flowers and I have photographed them lots of times trying to get something a bit different. Today, I wanted contrast.I decided to do a close up shot in black and white to try and get some big contrast. Not really had to do much with this image in DPP - just sharpened really. I played around with ligthing direction to try and achieve as much contrast in camera as possible and it seems to have worked! I've attempted this before and I must check to see which version is better - I'm sure this one was closer to 100% accurate in camera than my previous attempt.
I'd also just like to add a big "Congratulations" to Joseph who won the Gold Award for his class this week - that's twice this year he's won it. He won it essentially for "being him" - I am a proud Mummy again!
