May 15th - Kingfisher
I have finally managed to not only see but also photograph the 2nd of my 2 favourite birds - the kingfisher (the other being the grey heron). This little fella was really busy zipping about - are they fast or what?! he did stop on occasions and I have managed to get a few shots of the beautiful little thing. I was well chuffed!
(I have to tell you about my traumatic event yesterday morning though. I had just got out of the bath and dried my face on my towel. I was sat drying my feet when I had a funny sensation on my face. It felt like my hair was moving or falling across my face or something like that. I thought I'd somehow managed to get the bathroom light cord caught and it was on my face so swept across my face with my hand only to find i had just swept a spider, sorry that's not right, the MOTHER OF ALL SPIDERS off my face!! I nearly died on the spot. It was huge. I had managed to take off 2 of its legs when i swept it off my face, so it did limp a bit. I felt ill and couldn't stop shaking. I will never put my towel on the bathroom floor whilst in the bath again. Just thought I'd share it with you!)
