May 9th - The very Hungry Caterpillar
Had a busy day today with Aimee so didn't manage to get out with camera. This was really unfortunate as I missed out on 2 shots that I really wish I'd have taken. On the way home from Meadowhell we stopped to look at the River Don. We saw a kingfisher (only the second time I have ever seen one. I really want to see one static now!) and a grey heron flying around. My 2 most favourite birds doing things that would have made great action shots. We also saw loads of sand martins doing the dance of love, pied wagtail, grey wagtail, goldfinch and the usual mallards and geese. We have had a wonderful day! BUT I hadn't got my camera, so todays shot had to be from the garden. Joseph spotted this caterpillar, so I decided he was a prime suspect as I have got a caterpillar shot. I had to wait for him to be still before I could get a decent shot.
