Seemingly extinct-Bread & Butter Pudding
No where sells this any more, and no one seems to have ever heard of it!
One of those 'school dinner' dishes, like rice pudding and semolina pudding all of which I love. Though sadly, the good old bread and butter pudding is no longer served at school :(
I suggest you try it if you haven't...quick and simple, and be like me, and don't bother with presentation! Layer buttered bread and raisins/dried fruit (optional sugar) and then pour over a milk and egg mixture. Leave for a bit for the bread to soak it up, then stick in the oven until brown! Use jam on the bread and spices to make it even better!
