The Kanchanaburi War Cemetary is some 129 km north west of Bangkok close to the Bridge on the River Kwai. It is the resting place of 5084 Commonwealth and 1896 Dutch Prisoners of War who lost their life working for the Japanese to build the infamous 'Death Railway' between Thailand and Burma.
