On 4 June 2013, West Wallsend Colliery (WWC) notified OEH of a pollution incident involving leakage of grouting material into a natural drainage line in SCA. A further, smaller grout leak was reported by the Colliery on 20 September 2013, which is understood to have occurred in February 2013.
