Sunset at White Cloud Creek, Huangshan
Camping for two nights on Huangshan in Anhui Province, China. All those stairs in 40 degree weather with insane humidity! Phew.
Photo taken at White Cloud Creek with a sign nearby stating this as one of the most photogenic points in all of Huangshan. I completely concur!
Arrived at around 5:45 pm, one hour before the sunset was due, to secure my spot at this location. Though not one of the more popular places for sunset-viewing, the abundance of tourists around the place meant that any place with a decent view was hot property. Luckily, all other sunset viewers were pleasant and amiable - all of us mesmerised by the theatrical performance in front of us: as the stone spires metamorphosed in the changing light; the silhouettes danced to the tune of the setting sun; and as a theatrical haze (likely from the humidity of the area) filled the air to give a mystical aura to the entire scene.
An experience to never forget!
