Intimacy of Change by Rena O.
I submitted this photo for my first photography grant. I have never done a formal self-portrait. I shied away from intimacy for years and vulnerability intimated me. Both of those elements I tapped into to convey my interpretation of the intimacy of change. Over the past 3 years, my self-development journey has been intense and life-changing. I use to bottle up all my emotions and shy away from the camera but it actually felt good to be expressive, open, and vulnerable with the camera and myself. The edit isn't perfect and that is exactly the point. No change is perfect.
