#8. Flashman and the Redskins ( Part 1 )
Flashman aged: 27 to 28
Years: 1849 - 1850
*Notes
Flashman and the Redskins part 1, continues directly on from Flash for Freedom. Trying to get himself out of further trouble Flashman ends up heading west with Mrs Willinck a brothel owner (temptations at every door for Flashy) and so by becomes one of the legendary 49'ers. When the going gets too much. He escapes with Cleonie one of Willinck girls, then sells her into slavery. Falls in with some travellers who turn out to be scale hunters looking for Apaches. When they come across some Indians he refuses to take any scalps, which is a huge stroke of luck, for when the travellers are attacked and killed by the larger Apache tribe, he is spared and ends up marrying Sonsee-Array the daughter of the Chief. Always looking for a way out, he eventually jilts his new wife ( he has many by now) and escapes running into Kit Carson, who helps him on his way to San Francisco.
Couldn't resist a wild west scene with Flash and his Indian wife by the fire. The rock stacks are inspired by Matija Grguric's wonderful ones. His whole western sets are awesome.
