Ooty, Tamil Nadu - Murugan Temple, Elk Hill

The Elk Hill Murugan Temple, also known as the Elk Murugan Temple, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

The temple is situated atop Elk Hill, which is approximately 1 km from Rose Garden and 4 km from Ooty Railway Station.

Perched at an elevation of 2,500 meters above sea level, Elk Hill offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The highlight of the temple is a 40 feet tall statue of Lord Murugan, which stands outside the temple enclosures. This magnificent statue is a replica of the Murugan Statue in Batu Caves, Malaysia. Besides Lord Murugan, the temple premises also house idols of Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Goddess Shakthi, Nava Kanika, Navagrahas, and more.
