Saturday January 13th 2001 and Dublin Bus bid farewell to its once 330+ strong Bombardier KD fleet. A special journey was organised and Donnybrook garage based KD353 was the final KD in service.
Slightly less than one month earlier on December 15th 2000 Summerhill based KD284 operated the final 'normal' journey on route 16 in a very low key fashion. KD353 as pictured here was kept for the farewell tour on January 13th.
Driving KD353 on the day was veteran Donnybrook driver Eddie Murphy seen here at the wheel as the bus completed its final journey on route 11. The terminus , and the end of Dublin Bus Bombardier double deckers just yards away.
