Ducking Stool: Leominster
The last ducking stool to be used in England is now exhibited in the Priory Church, Leominster, Herefordshire. The last person it was employed to duck was, in 1809, a woman named Jenny Pipes who, according to legend, despite a soaking in the River Lugg continued to nag and scold others. In 1996 a replica was made and people volunteered to be ducked for charity and raised £1,000 in the process.
