He Rose J?

The landlord's name I wonder? But Rose is a ladies name! Actually there were letters missing here, It should say The Rose Inn, that last letter being an I. The other side of the pub it was written in full in Welsh - Tafarn-Y-Rhosyn so maybe someone wanted it in Welsh only!
