I was coming back from Pioneer Park, having photographed Coit Tower in green, and decided to stop at an old spot to see how the ectoplasmic-green tower factored into the composition, as a color.
Well, it's kind of a small green factor in the background. Haha.
Seriously, there is something about complimentary colors that is appealing in night photography.
A very close friend of mine grew-up in an apartment house on the other side of Washington Square in the 30's and 40's and I have some very good memories of strolling around North Beach in the 80's and 90's while she would point-out what places used to be where and so forth. Very cool stuff. Having friends that much older has been great. Clint Eastwood asked her dad if they could use the rooftop for a scene in "Dirty Harry," but he said no because of the bad omens it might cause. Who knows? Haha.
Anyway, thanks for having a look! Oh, and the reason for the green color was not only St. Patrick's Day but also "The one-hundreth birthday of the Girl Scouts of America." I was quoting the colored lights dude. Remember the mint cookies they would sell?
